…Careful What You Write

Let me start with, be careful what you write on the internet. It may never go away! And here’s one of the funniest examples.

Let me start with, be careful what you write on the internet. It may never go away!

And here’s one of the funniest examples.

On May 18, 2009 an adventure game appeared on the webpage New Grounds, published by one of the users that goes by the name Rhete. Now, Rhete had been publishing games on New Grounds since 2003 and had previously published 9 games. In 2005, his game Wade vs The Star Syndicate had even featured on the “Best of 2005”.

But on this special day, Rhete published Super PSTW Action RPG (sidenote, this game would also go on to win the daily third prize and win Best of 2009 with a rating of 4.26 out of 5).

I suggest you take a break and play Super PSTW Action RPG now. Make sure to read the Author’s Comments before starting.

Finished? Did you enjoy it? It’s generally considered a non serious, hilarious Flash game, published for comedic and paradoxical reasons. However, almost a full year later (February 3, 2010) a review of Super PSTW Action RPG appeared written by Axman13. The reviewer clearly missed the actual point of the game, and, didn’t really bother to check their spelling or grammar.  Check out the full review below:

i reley dont wan to say this, but i have to now.
this game is so esey. i mean, all you do is hit the spacebar. thats it! how is this an RPG anyway? you cant contrail anything but what it says on the screen! what if i didnt want to buy the potion? what apout quests? all you can upgrade is stranth? there is no way you can lose to the boss at the end! this game is crap! its not even an RPG at all! i mean look at it! in what way is this supposed to be an RPG if you can do quests and stuff? all you do is press one butten the entier time! explain to me! the athore coments al totol lies! is it supposed to be stick dudes? i dont even know how this damn game got the daily 3rd prize, or a rating of 4.26!
pepole think this review is worthles.
go ahead! say it! i dont care! im just trying to make a point here!
blam this piece of crap!!!!

P.S the only reson im giving this a 1 is beacuase the voices where pretty good. but thats it!

WHAT?!?!?!

Absolute hilarity ensued when this was noticed by the general public. And another New Grounds user (D-Mac-Double) decided he’d narrate the review in a fully serious way. You can listen to it here.

Of course, the New Ground users loved the incredibly funny take on the incredibly terrible review. The rating for the audio file currently sits at 4.29 (slightly higher than the original game).

But it didn’t stop there, the audio track was shared, regularly listened to (according to the comments, parts were cut out and used for ringtones). And about a year later (January 6, 2011) yet another user (Ricepirate) borrowed the audio track and create Dot Dot Dot – Animated. One of the absolute funniest serious readings on the internet still today.

Check it out below:

So, where does Axman13 (years old) go from here? He will forever be known as the guy who wrote the dot dot dot review. Of course, he’s faded into obscurity now. But will forever be mocked and ridiculed on the internet. Really, you should BLLAAAAAAMMMM this piece of crap!!!

Always remember, be careful what you write, be careful what you publish, because there is always someone out there that may find it and turn it into Dot Dot Dot.
